Kokkola Opera Summer 2011 presents The Magic Flute by W.A. Mozart!
Next summer will mark the 6th festival year for the Kokkola Opera Summer and our main event will be The Magic Flute. A circus tent will be set in the middle of town, and the entire story will be set in a circus milieu complete with fire show by Antti Suniala. Sakari Oramo and Santtu-Matias Rouvali will conduct the Central Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra and Jakobstads Sinfonietta.

West Coast Kokkola Opera produced a highly acclaimed version of Bizet's Carmen last summer. The New Helsinki Music Hall has now invited this production to visit during their first six months after opening. Watch out for more information. Performance date February 12th, 2012.
West Coast Kokkola Opera commissioned a new opera from Sebastian Fagerlund in 2009, which received its World Premiere during Kokkola Opera Summer that same year. During a tour to Sweden this opera was recorded by BIS. Highly acclaimed hybrid CD was released in July 2010. Read some of the reviews:
